Mary Parish School Board allocated funds for student
supplies (classroom) and for science labs. PJHS utilized
these funds to eliminate student fees for hallway lockers,
initial IDs and lanyards/clips, science lab equipment &
supplies. Classroom supplies purchased for students
include but not limited to binders, colors, glue (bottle and
stick), scissors, highlighters, markers (thin and broad),
expo markers for use with individual student white boards,
manila folders, pencil colors and additional pencils to
supplement what parents have bought.

Public Service Announcement:
On March 28th, the St. Mary Parish School
Board will place a renewal
tax proposition before voters for the purpose of
renewing a 10-year, 12.17 mill property tax in District
2, which includes the communities of Berwick, Bayou
Vista, and Patterson. Proceeds from the tax contribute
$2.188 million to maintain, operate, and give additional
support to public schools in those cities.
The proceeds from this tax have helped to
maintain Patterson Junior High School through all of

Junior High is a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
(SACS) approved middle school in the Saint Mary Parish School
System in Louisiana.
Patterson Junior High School received Southern Association
Approval in 2006. Renewed in 2012.
Patterson Junior High is a member of the Association for Middle
Level Education (AMLE), the leading international organization
advancing the education of all students ages 10 to 15, helping
them succeed as learners and make positive contributions to
their communities and to the world. AMLE is committed to helping
middle grades educators.
